The Partnering with Parents Survey is sponsored by the California Department of Education (CDE), Special Education Division (SED) and is intended to be used by parents of children who are receiving special education and related services from their local educational agency (LEA).

Survey questions are based on questions from the National Center for Special Education Accountability Monitoring (NCSEAM) survey, widely utilized by states across the nation to gain parent perspective of their experience and their child's experience with special education.

These questions span four critical areas for parents and families: school’s efforts to partner with parents, quality of services, impact of special education services on families, and parent participation. The information gathered from this survey will assist the CDE in identifying areas of strength as well as areas that may need improvement related to the education of students with disabilities.
